Joe Hill is the son of Stephen and Tabitha King and whose full name is Joe Hill King. Joe Hill's writing career began stealthily by shortening his name to Joe Hill and entering contests, magazines and other areas without informing anyone of his background with his famous father, Stephen King. After winning a couple of awards on his own, again completely in secrecy, he began his writing career on his own terms. It must have been something to be able to stand on his own two feet as a writer. Good for him.
Joe Hill is the winner of the following: Ray Bradbury’s Fellowship award for the story 20th CENTURY GHOST and maybe you heard he also received the William L. Crawford award for best new fantasy writer in 2006. Then there is the A. E. Coppard Long Fiction Prize in 1999 for BETTER THAN HOME and the 2006 World Fantasy Award for VOLUNTARY COMMITTAL. His stories have appeared in a variety of magazines, such as Postscripts, Subterranean Magazine and The High Plains Literary Review, and in many anthologies.
Now with several novels, lots of short fiction, and several comic lines produced he has already had quite a career. I for one am looking forward to his future in writing.
